Welcome Benyamin Nuss

Another special treat for our attendees! Pianist and video gamer lover Benyamin Nuss will be giving a special piano concert at #Naka2016. Nuss is part of the A New World ensemble, and has also performed as a soloist for Distant Worlds concerts in Tokyo and Chicago, among others. A lifelong gamer himself, Nuss released his own album, "Deutsche Grammophon," which is also a tribute to Nobuo Uematsu.

Earthbound Papas and Critical Hit at Naka-Kon 2016

What's this? Another guest announcement so soon!? We're so excited we just couldn't keep this to ourselves: Earthbound Papas, led by Nobuo Uematsu himself, and Critical Hit, led by Jason Hayes, will be performing at #Naka2016! Uematsu-san is, of course, known for his work composing for the Final Fantasy games, and Jason Hayes is best known for composing the score for World of Warcraft. They'll be bringing you an evening full of spectacular video game music. We'll have more details about the concert to come, so stay tuned!

Registration for 2016 Open!

Pre-registration for Naka-Kon 2016 is live! That means the convention season is officially upon us. Naka-Kon 2016 will take place March 11-13, 2016, at the Overland Park Convention Center.

Every year, our lovely attendees come back, and you bring more and more of your friends with you! In 2015 we had 8,414 attendees, plus guests, vendors, artists and staff.

Naka 2015 Numbers

For those who have been wondering, here are the final numbers for Naka-Kon 2015. This year we had 8,414 attendees taking part in the convention, which is around 1,200 more than last year. When you add in guests, exhibitors and staff, the total count comes in at 8,772. Needless to say, a new attendance record was set.

Security Staff Search

How'd you like a free badge to Naka-Kon? What about some great resume experience? We need con assistants to work security!

We rely on our security volunteers to handle props and weapons check, enforce the dress code and other rules, and check badges at the entrance to panels and other events. The requirements are pretty simple, too. You must be able to handle crowds, speak loudly, and deal with problems if they arise — nicely, of course.
