Game Room

Game Room

Gaming is a major industry in Japan, and it’s safe to say that many anime fans know their way around a controller. Such a sizeable community deserves an equally massive venue in which to carry on and compete with fellow gamers, and Naka-Kon is the best place to virtually smash, stomp, and shred with friends both current and soon-to-be. Our gaming space will be better than ever for 2017, with consoles, arcade machines, tabletop games, card games, tournaments, and more, spanning all 7 Courtyard Rooms at the Overland Park Convention Center.

At Naka-Kon, we want to foster an environment of camaraderie and friendly competition. To this end, we ask that Kon guests exercise common courtesy and politeness: ask before joining games, pass your controller to another guest after playing for 10-15 minutes, please be mindful of the equipment, and be gracious in both victory and defeat. Children age 10 and under must also be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times.

What's in the Game Room?

Our game room is filled with all kinds of games. There's no shortage of people running tabletop RPG campaigns, various TCG matches, and of course board games. We also offer console gaming, with an assortment of games and systems from all periods. And regardless of whether you prefer dice and cards or a controller, we offer a variety of tournaments for you to test your skills! Check back later for a listing of tournaments, how to enter, and additional information.

Gaming for a Good Cause

This year, Naka-Kon is proud to partner up with Extra Life, a gaming-related charity organization. Through Extra Life, gamers pledge to play games for 24 hours while raising donations for the local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital. Naka-Kon will have a table set up within our gaming area for you to get more information about Extra Life, and to sign up for your own gaming marathon!
