How can I request a refund or rollover of my Naka-Kon 2020 membership?

What will happen to my Event Ticket purchases?

Because we cannot guarantee that the organizers and presenters of these events will be available for Naka-Kon 2021, all Event Tickets purchased will fully be refunded. These include:

  • Maid Café
  • Japanese Wagashi
  • Sushi Making Course
  • Charity Ball
  • Gothic Lolita Tea Party
  • Cos-lesque

How will group registration be handled?

We will either do a full refund or a full rollover of the entire group. We will not do partial refund and partial rollovers.

For groups who request a refund, a refund will be applied to the card that was used to pay for the entire group. Group will then have to coordinate internally in distributing the individual shares.

How long will it take to receive the refund from Eventbrite once I fill out the request form?

After the form deadline of March 27, we will organize all the requests that we have received and coordinate with Eventbrite in processing a bulk refund. We are hoping all refunds will be processed by mid-April.

How will I receive my refund?

You will be receiving credit back to the card that you utilized to register and/or purchase event tickets.

The credit card that I used to pay is not valid anymore. What should I do?

Under this scenario, the funds will go to the bank that issued your card. You will need to coordinate with your bank directly on how to receive the fund. We encourage you to contact your bank to let them know that you are anticipating to receive a refund from Eventbrite within the next few weeks.

What if I don’t fill out the refund / rollover request form?

We will automatically rollover your membership for Naka-Kon 2021 if a request form is not filled out by March 27, 2020.

I purchased VIP membership. If I choose rollover, will my VIP status also be rolled over to 2021? Will I still be receiving my gift bag this year?

Those who purchased VIP membership will maintain their VIP status if they choose to roll over to 2021. The gift bag that was scheduled to be handed out in 2020 will not be handed out at the 2021 convention. VIP members in 2021 will receive the same gift bag as members who purchased new VIP memberships.

How can I confirm that you received my refund request?

For those who successfully filled out the form will be receiving two emails.

The first email will be from Naka-Kon and is the confirmation that Naka-Kon received your form response. A second email will be sent by Eventbrite once the refund has been processed. Eventbrite anticipates all refund to be processed by mid-April.

How can I confirm that you received my rollover request?

For those who successfully filled out the form will be receiving two emails.

The first email will be from Naka-Kon and is the confirmation that Naka-Kon received your form response. A second email will be sent in the summer with a confirmation your registration has been transferred to Naka-Kon 2021. Your previous order # will remain the same.

I haven’t received an email from Naka-Kon and/or from Eventbrite, what should I do?

Please double check your spam or junk folder for the follow up emails. If you confirm that you haven’t received the emails, please contact membership@naka-kon.com.

I received an email stating that my order (registration) has been cancelled? Will my refund or rollover requested be processed?

Please contact membership@naka-kon.com if you receive an email from Eventbrite stating that your order was cancelled. We will coordinate with you directly to check your status and process the refund or rollover.

So far, we have found that a select few who have paid registration at an offseason events (e.g. Kansas City Japan Festival, etc) and not through the eventbrite system are receiving an order cancellation message.

I paid my registration at an offseason event? If I request a refund, how will I receive my refund?

For those who did not pay registration through Eventbrite, we will coordinate with you directly in getting your refund. Options to receive your refund include check (mail) or fund transfer through PayPal or Venmo.

I requested a refund for my badge and the event ticket(s) that I purchased. I received a refund confirmation for one, but not the other. Will I get a refund for both?

Since event tickets and badge purchases were processed through two separate event pages (transactions), you may receive a refund notification from Eventbrite separately for badge refund and event ticket refund. Please allow up to mid-April for refund to be processed for both the badges and event tickets.

I received an email from Eventbrite stating that the refund has been processed, but I don't see the credit back on my account? Where is my refund?

Once you receive an email from Eventbrite, please allow up to 7 business days for the refund to be credited back to your account. If you do not see the refund in your account after 7 business days, please contact your bank / credit card provider to locate your refund.

My bank / card provider cannot locate my refund. Who should I contact?

In this case, please contact Eventbrite directly (https://www.eventbrite.com/support/contact-us) and an Eventbrite staff will assist tracking down the refund. If you have trouble getting in touch with Eventbrite, then please contact us at membership@naka-kon.com.

Why can’t I receive my refund now?

We are working as fast as we can to process thousands of pre-registered attendees. There are various moving parts at play, and we're working as quickly and efficiently as possible.

If you have not received your refund by May 1st, please contact membership@naka-kon.com. Thank you for your patience and understanding in this difficult time.

I am an Artist / Vendor; can I receive a refund for my booth space or rollover my space to Naka-Kon 2021?

Yes, we will offer both options to artists and vendors. We will be contacting all artists and vendors directly to confirm their choice. We hope to finish this process by the first week of April. For artists and vendors who haven’t received an email from us by mid-April, please contact budget@naka-kon.com.

For Artist / Vendor who request refund or rollover, will we receive a follow up email that confirms our request?

Yes, we will send a follow up email to artists and vendors once we receive your choice.
