The convention rate booking period will open on Friday, December 9th around 5:30pm.
This year blocks will be available at several hotels. Those who want to stay at one of these convenient hotels are encouraged to make their reservations sooner than later, as reservations go very fast.
What do I need to reserve a hotel room?
You need someone who is 21 years old and has a credit card in their name. The hotel will check that the card is valid, but they won't charge the cost of the room to the card. A debit card that has a Visa or major credit card logo is also acceptable.
When and how do I pay?
When you check in to the hotel, you will be asked for security. If you give them a credit card it will be charged with the full amount plus a deposit. This money is 'held' on the card by the bank. If you wish to pay with cash or traveler's checks, give them to the clerk when you check in. If you do not give the clerk a new credit card or pay for the room with another method, the hotel will charge the fee to the card you provided to reserve the room.
What is the quiet floor?
The quiet floor is a block of rooms that are meant to have a low noise level for those who want peace and quiet. You can request a room on the quiet floor when you call to make your reservations or, if you are reserving your rooms online, by including your request in the Comments box. Please note that this is a request and it is not guaranteed that you will be placed on this floor.
Naka-Kon does not register, monitor, or otherwise endorse room parties. Any disturbances reported at the Sheraton will be investigated and handled by the hotel.
How do I reserve a suite?
Suite reservations are not available in the convention block this year.
What if I can't come to the Kon? Will I be charged for the room reservation?
You will not be charged for the room if you cancel several days prior to check-in. If you do not call and cancel, then the card you used to reserve the room will be charged for one night.
Why should I stay at the Kon hotel?
Because it is in the middle of everything! It is close to convention activities so you don't have to drive home, even if you stay up all night. Food is close by too, so you don't need to drive to eat. Finally, you should stay at the convention's hotel because it helps the convention. Hotels discount the cost for the convention's space rental based on how many rooms the convention attendees stay in.
