Online Check-In

When you buy your badge at the convention, you will be asked to fill out a paper form for on-site registration. You can speed up that process by clicking the button below and completing an online check-in form. Print out the completed form and bring it to the convention, and you can skip taking the time to fill out the paper form.

Please Note: Completing this form doesn't mean you are registered. You won't be registered, or receive a convention badge, until you present the form to the registration staff and make your payment.

Name Badges

Name badges must be worn on your person at all times while in the convention space and must be surrendered to any staff member upon request. Naka-Kon reserves the right to revoke the badge of anyone who refuses to abide by convention rules. A complete list of convention rules can be found in the convention program book or at Naka-Kon Rules on the website.

A parent or guardian with a convention badge must accompany children 12 and younger at all times.

Your badge is not proof of age. Photo identification will be required at the door before entering any convention activity with age restrictions.

Badge Sales

The Badge Sales table will open at 6 p.m. on March 13 at the Overland Park Convention Center, Exhibit Hall A. Go here for more information about times and locations for badge sales and pre-registration badge pick-up.

You are welcome to upgrade your single day badge to a full weekend by visiting the Registration desk to pay the difference.

Acceptable ID

ID for attendees ages 18 and older must be an acceptable form of photo identification, which can include: driver's license, passport, or state photo ID. Attendees age 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult badge holder at all times while at the convention.

How to Pay

You may pay for your badge by cash or credit card. No personal checks can be accepted. We accept Visa, MasterCard or Discover. Credit card transactions will be charged a $2 convenience fee.

Lost Badges

Your badge is valuable and it is your responsibility to keep it secure. Naka-Kon will not refund or replace badges that are lost or stolen. Attendees who lose their badges must purchase a replacement badge to re-enter the convention.

Pre-Registration Will Call

Pre-registration name badges can be picked up at the Will Call table starting at 4 p.m, Thursday, March 13, in Exhibit Hall A of the Overland Park Convention Center. Badge pick up will also be available daily March 14–16. Visit this link to see our hours of operation.

Individual Name Badges

  • Watch for signs indicating which pick up lane you should use. Pick up lanes will be organized alphabetically by last names (A–F, G–L, M–S, T–Z & Groups).
  • As a courtesy to others in line, be sure to have your confirmation message and ID ready when you pick up your badge.
  • Attendees age 18 and older, must present an acceptable form of photo identification, which can include: driver's license, passport, or state photo ID.
  • Attendees 17 years of age and younger need only bring a copy of their confirmation e-mail message.
  • Attendees age 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult badge holder at all times while at the convention.

Group Pre-Registrations

Group badges can be picked up at the Will Call table in Exhibit Hall A starting at 4 p.m., Thursday, March 13. and daily during the convention.

Group leaders must pick up badges for their entire group. If the group leader can not be present to pick their group's badges, the leader must designate an alternate to collect that group's badges. The group leader must inform Naka-Kon Registration in writing by letter or e-mail before noon of March 7, 2014 if they will be designating an alternate.

Group members may NOT pick up badges individually. It is the responsibility of the group leader and group members to coordinate distribution of the badges among the group.

Group leaders, or the designated alternate, must present the following items to pick up their group badges:

  • A copy of the group confirmation e-mail sent to the group leader; and
  • Front and back photocopy (or scan) of each attendee's acceptable identification.

ID for attendees ages 18 and older must be an acceptable form of photo identification, which can include: driver's license, passport, or state photo ID. Attendees 17 years of age and younger need only be included in the roster listed in the group confirmation email. Attendees age 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult badge holder at all times while at the convention.

FAQ

When are the deadlines for pre-registration?

Pre-registration for Naka-Kon 2014 is closed. You may purchase name badges at the convention.

Are group registration specials available?

Group discounts will not be available for at-door registration.

I have pre-registered, why haven't I gotten an e-mail confirmation message yet?

Confirmation e-mail messages were sent to all of the e-mail addresses given on the online registration form. However, some of these addresses are undeliverable due to typos, closed accounts and other issues beyond our control. If you have not yet received an e-mail confirmation message, please contact registration@naka-kon.com.

I am registered as part of a group, can I pick up just my badge?

Group members may NOT pick up badges individually. It is the responsibility of the group leader and group members to coordinate distribution of the badges among the group.

I have 6 people (or less) in my group. Can I still get a group discount?

No. Group discounts are only available for 7 people or more.

Where and when can I pick up my badge?

You can pick up your badge at the Registration Will Call desk during the convention. Visit this link for more information.

What if I lose my badge?

My friend asked me to pick up/purchase their badge. What do I need to bring?

You may pick up pre-registration badges for other people with a front and back photocopy of your friend's ID (see above for acceptable IDs).

You may also purchase badges for friends at Naka-Kon with a front and back photocopy of their ID.

Why aren't the badges cheaper?

Each badge allows the holder to experience a full weekend or full day of activities and events. Professional sporting and entertainment events with similar or higher prices may only last two to three hours, and not have as wide a spectrum of activities. In addition, all badge purchases go directly to funding the convention to pay for hotel space, purchasing panel and event equipment, and accommodating special guests. Badge costs for each year are based on the cost of running the convention and the number of people expected to attend. To save a few dollars, we highly recommend pre-registering.

All I really want to go to is the [place your choice of event/area here]. Can I just pay for that and not pay for the full badge?

No. This would cause many challenges in both the production and operation of the convention. We understand that the value of a badge and what one can get out of it will change from person to person. However, we highly recommend that you attend other panels and events. You may be pleasantly surprised by what you find.

I already bought my badge, but I can't make it to Naka-Kon! Can I get a refund?

No. All sales are final and we do not offer refunds no matter the reason. Although purchasing pre-registration badges does save you money, we recommend that you wait to purchase the badge until you are sure that your schedule and finances will work out for that weekend.
