Hello Nakama - this is a friendly reminder that our 2023 Exhibit Hall application will open tomorrow, Monday, December 5, 2022. The application will be available on our vendor hall page.
We would also like to take this opportunity to share our stance on Artificial Intelligence (AI) generated art. First, we will not allow AI-generated art nor artwork derived in whole or in part from AI technology in our exhibit hall next year. This emerging technology presents new and complex ethical challenges for staff, vendors, artists, and fans.
If vendors or artists are found selling AI-generated artwork, they will receive one warning and be asked to remove the items from the premises. If they are found selling AI-generated artwork after the first warning, they will be asked to leave the convention without a refund. This policy mimics our longstanding bootleg policy.
We will continue to evaluate this technology on a year-to-year basis and adjust our policy as appropriate in consultation with our artists, staff, and attendees.
